Sale of marine electronics equipment covering a broad spectrum of products including communication equipments (satellite, radiotelephone, telex and VHF; GMDSS stations); navigational aids (radar, AIS, SSAS, LRIT, electronic charting, GPS navigators, Navtex receivers, track plotters); emergency position indicating equipments; search and rescue transponders; echo-sounding and fish finding equipments; sonar, life saving and rescue equipments; gyro compasses, auto pilots, SVDR and speed logs; talkback, public address and crew entertainment; environmental monitoring; satellite systems including airtime packages.
Sale and installation of communication and navigational shore based installations including satellite weather mapping.
Maintenance and servicing
Maintenance and servicing of marine electronic equipments installed on all types of vessels, including oil exploration rigs and platforms operating off the South African coast and adjacent territories – Namibia, Angola and Mozambique.
Supply of computers, software and hardware.
Computer support including networking and interfacing to various equipment, such as satellite (Inmarsat; Fleet Broadband; Iridium), globe-email, plotters, ecdis, radars, engine monitoring, etc.

The Company provides sales and service support in South Africa for the following overseas companies and for whom trained engineers are available : AC Marine (Celwave); Amplidan; Evolution Communications; Fugro UDI; Garmin; ICOM; Inmarsat Member; Iridium; Koden; Lilley & Gillie (Neco); Marconi Marine; McMurdo/ICS; Motorola; Pacific Micro Systems; Olex; Piscatus (3D-Mapping); Scanmar AS; Scan Steering; Seaplot International; Seatel (Europe); SGC; Ships Electronics; Thrane & Thrane (SAILOR) and Wesmar.
Safety Surveys
The Company is authorised to carry out surveys for the renewal or issue of Safety Radio Certificates covered by the International Safety of Life at Sea Convention on behalf of the following classification societies :
American Bureau of Shipping; Bureau Veritas; Belize Registry; China Class; Class NK; Cook Islands; Det Norske Veritas; Germanischer Lloyd; Lloyd’s Register of Shipping; International and Russian Register of Shipping
The Company has an installation agreement for Fleet Broadband units with a local Inmarsat satellite airtime distribution partner. CME is also listed as an official supplier to the United Nations Operation in Mozambique.
